5. Starlink Installation Service Agreement

Starlink Professional Installation Service Agreement

This Service Agreement is between Decepticomm (ABN 37 045 256 197) ("we", "us", "our") and you ("Customer", "you", "your").

1. Services Provided
We will supply and/or professionally install Starlink hardware including:

  • Mounting the Starlink dish at an agreed location with clear sky view

  • Running cabling (internal/external as quoted)

  • Connecting and configuring the Starlink router

  • Basic network setup and testing

Installation is a one-off service. Ongoing Starlink service, subscriptions, and hardware warranty are governed solely by Starlink’s terms.

2. Customer Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and clear access to the installation site (roof, wall, etc.)

  • Obtain all necessary permissions, permits, or approvals (body corporate, landlord, council)

  • Ensure the site is safe and complies with relevant building and safety standards

  • Supply power points and any required building modifications (not included unless quoted)

  • Advise us of any hazards (e.g., asbestos, fragile roof, heights)

3. Exclusions
Our installation does not include:

  • Structural building work, roof penetrations, or repairs

  • Concealed cabling through walls/ceilings (unless specifically quoted)

  • Removal of existing equipment or rectification of prior installations

  • Ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting of Starlink network issues, or weather-related damage after installation

  • Starlink subscription fees or account setup

4. Booking and Payment

  • A deposit may be required to book.

  • Full payment is due on completion of installation unless otherwise agreed.

  • Prices are inclusive of GST.

5. Site Inspection and Variations
We may conduct a pre-installation site check. If the site is unsuitable or additional work is required, we will advise you of any extra costs or we may cancel the service (with refund of deposit less reasonable expenses).

6. Risk and Liability

  • Installation is performed with due care and skill per Australian Consumer Law.

  • You acknowledge risks associated with roof or elevated work. We are not liable for pre-existing roof/structural issues or damage caused by weather after handover.

  • Our total liability is limited to the value of the installation service paid. We are not liable for indirect losses or Starlink network performance.

  • You indemnify us against any claims arising from your failure to provide safe access or required approvals.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • 48 hours’ notice is required for rescheduling without fee.

  • Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee.

  • No refunds for completed installations except as required by ACL (major failure).

8. Warranty on Installation Work
We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on the installation itself (excluding Starlink hardware). This does not cover damage from extreme weather, tampering, or customer modifications.

9. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

Acceptance
By booking and paying for the installation, you accept this Agreement.

6. General Installation & Service Agreement

This Service Agreement is made between Decepticomm (ABN 37 045 256 197) of Melbourne, Victoria (“we”, “us”, “our”) and you, the customer (“you”, “your”).

1. Services
We will provide professional installation and/or configuration services for:

  • CCTV and security camera systems

  • IT networking equipment (routers, switches, access points, etc.)

  • Ethernet and data cabling (structured cabling, fibre, Cat6/Cat6a, etc.)

  • Wireless networking and ISP-related equipment

  • Other networking, data, and low-voltage communication systems as quoted

All work is performed with due care and skill in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

2. Quote and Scope

  • The services we will perform are strictly limited to the scope described in the written quote or order confirmation.

  • Any variations or additional work requested on site will require a written variation and may incur extra costs.

3. Subcontracting
We reserve the right to subcontract portions of the work to appropriately qualified and licensed third-party contractors. This commonly includes:

  • Licensed electricians (for mains power, switchboard work, or high-voltage connections)

  • Access equipment hire (elevated work platforms, scaffolding)

  • Excavation, trenching, or civil works

  • Fibre optic specialists or other specialist trades

Where subcontracting is required, we will:

  • Use reputable, insured contractors

  • Coordinate the work

  • Remain your primary point of contact

You authorise us to engage these subcontractors on your behalf. You are responsible for any additional costs associated with subcontracted works unless they are expressly included in our quote.

4. Customer Responsibilities
You must:

  • Provide safe, clear, and timely access to the premises

  • Obtain all necessary approvals, permits, or consents (body corporate, landlord, council, etc.)

  • Advise us of any hazards (asbestos, structural issues, confined spaces, etc.)

  • Supply power outlets and any mains electrical work if not included in our scope

  • Ensure the site complies with relevant safety and building standards

  • Be present or arrange access for scheduled work days

5. Exclusions (Not Included Unless Quoted)

  • Mains electrical work, switchboard upgrades, or power circuit installation

  • Structural building alterations, roof penetrations, or building repairs

  • Excavation, trenching, concrete cutting, or civil works

  • Access hire equipment (scaffolding, EWP, etc.) unless specified

  • Removal or disposal of existing equipment or cabling

  • Ongoing monitoring, maintenance contracts, or software subscriptions

  • Data backups, cybersecurity configuration, or third-party software licensing

6. Payment Terms

  • A deposit of 30% may be required to confirm the booking.

  • Balance is payable on completion of works or as per the agreed progress payments.

  • All prices are inclusive of GST.

  • Final payment is required before handover and testing.

7. Site Inspection and Variations
We may conduct a pre-installation site survey. If the site conditions require additional work outside the original quote (e.g., extra cabling runs, access equipment, or electrical upgrades), we will provide a variation quote. You may accept the variation or cancel the job (with deposit refunded less reasonable expenses already incurred).

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • At least 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule without fee.

  • Cancellations within 48 hours or after materials have been ordered may incur a cancellation fee of up to 30% of the job value plus cost of any non-returnable materials.

  • No refunds for completed work except where required by Australian Consumer Law (major failure).

9. Risk, Liability and Insurance

  • We carry appropriate public liability insurance.

  • Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the value of the services we provided.

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or business interruption.

  • You indemnify us against any loss or claim arising from your failure to provide safe access, required approvals, or accurate site information.

  • Risk in materials passes to you upon delivery to site. Title in materials remains with us until full payment.

10. Workmanship Warranty
We provide a [e.g. 12-month] workmanship warranty on the installation and configuration work we perform (excluding third-party products and subcontracted works). This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, weather, third-party interference, or normal wear and tear. Starlink hardware and other manufacturer warranties remain with the respective suppliers.

11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

By booking, paying the deposit, or allowing us to commence work, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept this Service Agreement.

7. Starlink Automotive, Mobile & Marine Fitment Agreement

This Agreement is between Decepticomm (ABN 37 045 256 197) of Melbourne, Victoria (“we”, “us”, “our”) and you, the customer (“you”, “your”).

1. Services Provided
We will supply and/or professionally fit Starlink hardware for automotive, mobile (RV/caravan), or marine (boat/yacht) applications including:

  • Supply and mounting of the Starlink dish/antenna in a suitable mobile location

  • Running of cabling and weatherproofing

  • Connection and configuration of the Starlink router/power supply

  • Integration with vehicle/marine power systems (12V/24V)

  • Basic network testing and handover

All work is performed with due care and skill in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. Note: Starlink’s consumer hardware is primarily designed for fixed residential use. Mobile/marine use may void or limit Starlink’s hardware warranty and performance guarantees.

2. Customer Responsibilities
You must:

  • Provide safe and clear access to the vehicle, RV, or vessel

  • Ensure the vehicle/vessel is in a suitable condition for installation (no pre-existing damage, corrosion, or safety issues)

  • Obtain all necessary approvals (e.g., body corporate for caravans, maritime authority requirements, insurance notification)

  • Advise us of any hazards (gas systems, fuel tanks, high-voltage systems, unstable surfaces, etc.)

  • Supply correct power specifications and any required fuses/isolators if not included in quote

  • Be responsible for any vehicle modifications affecting roadworthiness, towing compliance, or maritime survey requirements

3. Mounting and Installation Location

  • We will recommend and install the antenna in a location with the clearest possible sky view while considering aerodynamics, vibration, water ingress, and safety.

  • Final mounting position is subject to on-site assessment. You may be required to approve the location before work commences.

  • High or roof-mounted installations carry inherent risks of wind loading, vibration, and potential damage while in motion.

4. Exclusions (Not Included Unless Specifically Quoted)

  • Structural modifications to the vehicle/vessel (cutting, welding, reinforcement)

  • Mains power inverters, solar upgrades, or full electrical system rewiring

  • Removal or relocation of existing equipment, antennas, or masts

  • Ongoing maintenance, alignment adjustments after fitment, or repairs due to vibration/weather damage

  • Starlink subscription fees, account activation, or roaming data plans

  • Compliance with state/territory road rules or marine survey/certification

  • Insurance implications or loss of vehicle/vessel warranty

5. Subcontracting
We may subcontract specialist work (e.g., certified marine electricians, auto electricians, or fabricators) and will remain your primary point of contact.

6. Payment Terms

  • A deposit of 30% is required to confirm the booking and order hardware.

  • Balance is payable on completion of fitment and testing.

  • All prices are inclusive of GST.

  • Full payment is required before the vehicle/vessel is returned or handed over.

7. Pre-Fitment Assessment and Variations
We strongly recommend (and may require) a pre-fitment inspection. If the vehicle/vessel is unsuitable or additional work is needed, we will issue a variation quote. You may accept the variation or cancel (deposit refunded less any hardware costs already incurred and reasonable expenses).

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Minimum 72 hours’ notice is required to reschedule without fee (due to hardware ordering).

  • Cancellations after hardware is ordered or within 72 hours may incur a fee of up to 50% of the total plus cost of non-returnable items.

  • No refunds for completed fitment except where required by Australian Consumer Law (major failure).

9. Risk, Liability and Insurance

  • Risk in supplied hardware passes to you upon delivery or fitment.

  • Our total liability is limited to the value of the services and hardware we supplied.

  • We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of use of the vehicle/vessel, or Starlink network performance issues while mobile.

  • You must notify your insurer of the installation. We are not responsible for any increase in insurance premiums or claim denials.

  • You indemnify us against claims arising from your failure to provide accurate information, safe access, or required approvals.

  • Mobile use of Starlink is at your own risk regarding safety, signal stability, and regulatory compliance.

10. Workmanship Warranty
We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on the installation and cabling work performed by us (subject to normal mobile wear and tear). This does not cover:

  • Starlink hardware (refer to Starlink’s warranty and mobile-use limitations)

  • Damage from vibration, road/marine conditions, extreme weather, or improper use

  • Third-party products or subcontracted works

11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

By booking, paying the deposit, or allowing us to commence work on your vehicle, RV, or vessel, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept this Agreement.
